Before You Purchase Your Scooter

Scooter sales have more than doubled since 2006 in the United States. Many people are beginning to realize the fun and practicality of owning a scooter. As traffic gets worse, parking gets harder and more expensive to find, and gas prices increase, owning a scooter can be very economical. They are ideal for close commutes or trips around the neighborhood. Besides the obvious savings they are just plain fun to ride!

KH is a direct importer of scooters manufactured in Asia. Our models have US Department of Transportation approval. All of our scooters over 50cc also have EPA certification on their motors. Our scooters have 4 cycle engines which burn cleaner and are better for the environment. Many of our competitors only offer 4 cycle as an extra charge item. There are many imported scooters on today's market that do not meet our standards of safety and quality. We work closely with our overseas factories to ensure our bikes are right for the US market. The Internet is full of scooters that look the same and are priced at or below our prices. Beware, many of these scooters are of poor quality you get what you pay for . Check the size! Many of these scooters on the market are just too small for the average height rider. Anything under 42"(1075mm) may be too small to safely ride.

KH travels to manufacturers in Asia to find the best products for the US markets. We offer the same high quality standards as name brand products such as Honda, Aprillia, Polaris, Yamaha, Vespa, Kawasaki (sometimes they are made at the same factories as other brands) usually at less than half of the retail price!

Motorized vehicles can be hazardous to operate. Always wear a helmet, eye protection, and protective clothing when operating a motorized vehicle. Never engage in stunt or extreme riding. Riding and alcohol/drugs don't mix. Avoid excessive speeds. Be particularly careful on difficult terrain.

• Must be at least 16 years of age to operate a motor scooter (classified as a Moped in some states) on a public road
• In most states a regular driver's license is required to operate a scooter on public roads. A motorcycle license or endorsement typically is not required for 50cc or less; But, always check for the laws and regulations in your State.
• Most states require annual vehicle registration but in many states there is no fee or a reduced fee. A manufacturer's statement of origin is mailed to each purchaser to assist in the registration process
• Check with an insurance agent about the requirements to carry PIP insurance in your state

• Check with your state on laws for operating requirements for 150cc and 50cc and under motor scooters
• Check your Department of Transportation (DOT) or state vehicle registration authority
